Whoopi Goldberg, Jeffrey Wright, & Alec Baldwin Solve a Mystery in Atrabilious Trailer
In the new Atrabilious trailer, Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg and Oscar nominees Jeffrey Wright and Alec Baldwin solve a mystery. The thriller is directed by William Atticus Parker, who wrote the script and co-produced alongside Sabina Friedman-Seitz.
Atrabilious unfolds against a gritty Brooklyn backdrop, with the story zeroing in on Steven Joynier (The Knick’s Leon Addison Brown) as he begins a journey to find the truth behind his son’s sudden and suspicious death. The journey leads him to a strange bar, Atrabilious, which is where old secrets and a dark past begin to be illuminated slowly.

What happens in the Atrabilious trailer?
The trailer begins with Goldberg’s character asking Steven if he’s okay. The man barely responds. Wright’s character then makes Steven an offer. Instead of having to deal with grief and all that entails, he promises Steven that he’ll be able to forget.
Wright’s character warns that soon, Steven will start to feel the effects of the path he’s taken. The Atrabilious trailer then takes on a more sinister tone, with Steven seemingly leaning on this new and mysterious way of dealing with the loss of his son.
From there, the trailer seemingly lingers on the different people who visit the Atrabilious bar. Although they each have their own stories of what it is that led them to the bar in the first place, it looks as though they are all united in preferring this new way of dealing with their grief.
Along with Brown, Wright, Goldberg, and Baldwin, the cast of Atrabilious includes Sons of Anarchy alum Mark Boone Junior and Evan Jonigkeit (The Night House). Buffalo 8 is handling distribution. It marks the second film for Parker, the son of Billy Crudup and Mary Louise-Parker, coming after Forty Winks.
