Godzilla x Kong: Supernova Fans Believe Actor Spoiled Villain’s Identity
Fans believe that actor Matthew Modine may have spoiled who the villain of Godzilla x Kong: Supernova will be.
Godzilla x Kong: Supernova is a new chapter in Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Monsterverse franchise. Directed by Grant Sputore, the movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2027.
The cast of the movie includes Modine, Kaitlyn Dever, Dan Stevens, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Sam Neill.
Who do fans think the Godzilla x Kong: Supernova’s Villain is?
On Instagram, Modine posted a screenshot of a moment from 1994’s Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, as well as some artwork from the movie.
While it’s entirely possible that Modine was just watching the movie, fans believe the actor may be teasing that the villain of Godzilla x Kong: Supernova will be none other than SpaceGodzilla. The film’s title, itself, could also be a hint toward this, as a supernova is a powerful explosion of a large star.
This is not official confirmation that SpaceGodzilla will appear in the movie, as official plot details remain under wraps at this time.
Supernova will be the sixth theatrically released movie in the Monsterverse series, which began in 2014 with Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla. That was followed by 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong, and 2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The franchise shows no signs of slowing down, either, as The New Empire grossed around $572.3 million at the global box office.
Additionally, there was an animated Skull Island show released on Netflix in 2023, while Apple TV+ is currently developing a second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The first season of that show premiered in November 2023.
Godzilla x Kong: Supernova will be released in United States theaters on March 26, 2027, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
