Spider-Man: Shameik Moore’s Viral Beyond the Spider-Verse Comments Are Likely Misunderstood
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse star Shameik Moore recently made some comments that had fans in a frenzy, but likely aren’t what they think.
What did Shameik Moore say about Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse?
In a recent interview with Moore at the premiere of his upcoming film One Spoon of Chocolate, Moore was asked about the highly anticipated third entry in the animated series. Moore didn’t offer up much, but said he would be in it, to which the interviewer said “twice” before Moore said “three times,” leading the interviewer and many fans to wonder if Moore was teasing a third multiversal Miles Morales appearing in the movie.
However, as other fans were quick to point out, Moore does not voice the second Miles Morales from Earth-42 that appears toward the end of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. That version of Morales is voiced by Jharrel Jerome, so it’s more likely that Moore simply meant this would be the third time he would be in a Spider-Verse movie.
Sony Pictures has confirmed it will release Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse on June 4, 2027. The studio originally planned the release for March 29, 2024, but removed it from the calendar in July 2023 due to delays from the writers and actors strikes.
Phil Lord stated the story “picks up the moment [the second movie] ended” and will again “break the boundaries with animation.” Shameik Moore will reprise his role as Miles Morales, with Hailee Steinfeld returning as Gwen Stacy.
