The Devil Wears Prada 2 Gets Exciting Update From Emily Blunt
Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt has finally opened up about the current status of Walt Disney Studios’ upcoming The Devil Wears Prada 2. The long-awaited sequel is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 1, 2026.
In the original 2006 movie, Blunt portrayed the role of senior assistant Emily Charlton. This served as her breakout role, which earned her Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for Best Supporting Actress. Aside from the sequel, the acclaimed star will also next be seen in several high-profile projects, including A24’s sports drama movie The Smashing Machine with Dwayne Johnson, and the untitled Steven Spielberg sci-fi movie with Colman Domingo and Colin Firth.
What was Emily Blunt’s The Devil Wears Prada 2 update?
During a recent interview with ET, Blunt admitted that she hasn’t really read the script for The Devil Wears Prada 2 yet. However, she did confirmed that the sequel’s cast and crew are officially set to start filming this coming July.
“It’s so weird. I haven’t even read a script, I don’t know. I’m just like, where is she? I don’t know,” Blunt said. “Why are Meryl and I so mean to each other in every movie we do? We always have beef with each other. I don’t know what it is. Let’s hope we remedy it. I’m not sure.”

It will reportedly see Miranda Priestly at the end of her career as she contends with the decline of traditional magazines. Besides Blunt, the movie will also feature returning cast members Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, Anna Hathaway as Andy Sachs, and Stanley Tucci as Nigel. It is produced by Wendy Finerman.
