Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars Could See Ironheart Appear, Star Teases

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Dominique Thorne has finally addressed the possibility of Ironheart making an appearance in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Thorne made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Riri Williams/Ironheart in the 2022 sequel film, in which she starred opposite Marvel vets Letitia Wright and Danai Gurira.

Thorne’s Riri Williams is slated to return soon in the upcoming Disney+ series Ironheart, which will start streaming on June 24, 2025. The show will take place after the events of Wakanda Forever, following the titular young genius inventor as she tries to make her mark in the world with her iron suit. She is expected to go up against a mysterious yet charming antagonist in the form of Parker Robbins/The Hood, portrayed by Hamilton’s Anthony Ramos.

What did Dominique Thorne say about Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars?

During a recent interview with TheDirect, Thorne was asked about what would be the odds for fans to see Ironheart apearing in the highly-anticipated Avengers movies. She interestingly replied with a vague answer, hinting that there might indeed be a chance for this to happen.

“Oh, you know, what can I say? The odds might be in our favor. Who knows? We’ll see. We’ll see,” Thorne said.

At the moment, Avengers: Doomsday is still in production, with most of the cast recently spotted filming in Bahrain. Set to debut on December 18, 2026, Doomsday is being directed by Avengers: Endgame filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo from a screenplay written by Stephen McFeely. The ensemble cast will include MCU stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Anthony Mackie, Letitia Wright, Tenoch Mejia Huerta, Danny Ramirez, Simu Liu, Winston Duke, and Hannah John-Kamen, with Robert Downey Jr. returning as a completely different character in the form of Doctor Doom.
