Sony Pictures has shared the official A Big Bold Beautiful Journey trailer for the upcoming romantic fantasy drama led by Academy Award nominees Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell. The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 19, 2025.

“What if you could open a doorway and walk through it to re-live a defining moment from your past? Sarah and David are single strangers who meet at a mutual friend’s wedding and soon, through a surprising twist of fate, find themselves on A Big Bold Beautiful Journey – a funny, fantastical, sweeping adventure together where they get to re-live important moments from their respective pasts, illuminating how they got to where they are in the present…and possibly getting a chance to alter their futures,” reads the official synopsis.

What happens in the A Big Bold Beautiful Journey trailer?

The video introduces Robbie and Farrell as two strangers who suddenly get the chance to relive their memories by entering several magical doors. The cast also includes Kevin Kline, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Billy Magnussen, Hamish Linklater, Sarah Gadon, Brandon Perea, Yuvi Hecht, Lucy Thomas, and more.

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is directed and executive produced by Kogonada from a screenplay written by The Menu’s Seth Reiss. The film is described as “an imaginative tale of two strangers and the emotional journey that connects them.” It is produced by Reiss and Youree Henly along with Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas, and Ryan Friedkin for Imperative Entertainment. Ilene Feldman and Ori Eisen are executive producers.
