Superman: Green Lantern’s Haircut Explained by DCU Actor

Superman star Nathan Fillion has opened up about his quirky haircut in James Gunn’s highly anticipated DCEU movie. Fillion is set to portray the role of Guy Gardner, who is part of the Green Lantern Corps. Aside from the upcoming David Corenswet-led movie, he is also expected to reprise the hero in the HBO’s Lanterns series.

What did Nathan Fillion say about Green Lantern’s haircut?

During a recent interview, Fillion explained that he insisted on having a bowl cut for his version of Green Lantern, in order to stay faithful to Guy Gardner’s comic book origins.

“There was some talk about different hairstyles. There was some talk about some different types of things we were going to go… I was team bowl cut the whole way. It’s canon. It’s set. I said, ‘If we don’t do a bowl cut, we’re going to hear about it,” Fillion shared.

Superman written and directed by Gunn, based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The ensemble cast will be led by Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Joining them are Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell. It is executive produced by Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo and Lars Winther.
