Stitch Proposes Iron Man, Avengers: Doomsday MCU & Disney Crossovers
Stitch is ready for his time to shine in the MCU.
Walt Disney’s Lilo & Stitch is opening in United States theaters this coming weekend. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the movie is a live-action remake of the 2002 animated film of the same name and sees Chris Sanders once again return to voice Stitch.
What did Stitch say about becoming an MCU superhero?
During a recent press junket, Stitch gave several outlets comments about wanting to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
When asked by Rotten Tomatoes what other Disney live-action movie he would want to have a crossover with, Stitch said, “Stitch and Tony Stark! Stitch be Iron Stitch. Yeah. I am Iron Stitch! Snap finger.”
IGN, meanwhile, asked Stitch if he’s going to appear in Avengers: Doomsday.
“You’re trying to get Stitch in trouble!” Stitch responded. “Watch and find out! But, one thing Stitch would say, Stitch strong! Doomsday not be ready for Stitch!”
Needless to say, Stitch is not actually a Marvel Comics character and won’t be seen in any forthcoming MCU movies. It’s looking like Lilo & Stitch, however, will be a huge hit at the box office when it opens in United States theaters on May 23, 2025, as The Hollywood Reporter is now saying it’s expected to make around $165 million over Memorial Day weekend.
The film stars Maia Kealoha as Lilo Pelekai, Sydney Elizabeth Agudong as Nani Pelekai, Zach Galifianakis as Dr. Jumba Jookiba, Billy Magnussen as Agent Pleakley, Kaipo Dudoit as David Kawena, Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles, Tia Carrere as Mrs. Kekoa, and Hannah Waddingham as the voice of the Grand Councilwoman.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, meanwhile, is currently in production. That film has a May 1, 2026, release date from Disney, while the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, arrives in May 2027. Both films are being directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers.
