Sally Hawkins’ Psychotic Bring Her Back Character Teased in Haunting Video
Bring Her Back directors Danny and Michael Philippou have opened up about their newest horror thriller with A24 in a brand new video. This comes after nearly two years since the directing duo received recognition for their feature directorial debut movie Talk to Me, which is still A24’s highest-grossing horror movie to date.
“In the film, a brother and sister uncover a terrifying ritual at the secluded home of their new foster mother,” reads the official synopsis.

Bring Her Back directors describe new horror movie
The video begins with the Philippou brothers describing what fans can expect from their newest horror project, promising a more psychological and terrifying story than Talk to Me. The filmmaking duo also hyped up Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins‘ maternal but psychotic character, while also teasing fans to anticipate crazy and horrifying sequenes. Hawkins will be joined by Billy Barratt, Stephen Phillips, Sally-Anne Upton, Jonah Wren Phillips, Olga Miller, Mischa Heywood, Liam Damons, Alina Bellchambers, among others.
Bring Her Back is directed by Danny and Michael Philippou from a screenplay co-written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman. The film is produced by Samantha Jennings (Cargo) and Kristina Ceyton (The Babadook), with Cornel Wilczek composing the score. This marks the Australian directors’ latest collaboration with A24, following the critical and commercial success of the 2023 supernatural movie Talk to Me, which starred Sophie Wilde.
At the moment, the Philippou brothers are also currently developing a sequel to Talk to Me. In a previous interview, they confirmed that they’d already written a few scenes for the project, while working on the first installment. Talk 2 Me will once again directed by the Philippou brothers, with Hinzman also co-writing the sequel.
The movie arrives in theaters on May 30, 2025.
