
New Report Reveals Deadpool & Wolverine’s Profit for Disney & Marvel
The movie Deadpool & Wolverine has managed to make a huge profit for Disney due to its huge box office collection, according to a recent report. The Marvel Studios production had Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman returning in his popular role as Wolverine to team up against Emma Corrin’s Cassandra Nova. The film came out in theaters on July 26, 2024, and became the second-highest-grossing movie of the year worldwide.

Fans stormed theaters as soon as the movie opened in July 2024, and it quickly surpassed 2019’s Joker to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. Now, a new report by Deadline has calculated that Deadpool & Wolverine made a profit of $400 million for Disney.
The Marvel Studios movie, which was made on a budget of $200 million, also had the biggest opening for an R-rated movie and took in over $211 million. At the domestic box office, Deadpool & Wolverine made a total of $636.7 million and internationally made $701.3 million, bringing the movie’s box office total to over $1.3 billion.
As per the new report, the movie generated a revenue of $620 million from theaters, and its Home Entertainment and Television, and Streaming revenues were $150 million and $210 million, respectively. This brought its total revenue to $980 million.
While the movie made an immense amount of money, it also had its fair share of expenses. The movie was heavily marketed around the world, which helped to generate the amazing fan reception.
On production costs and prints, the studio had to spend around $200 million and around another $160 million on ads. On things like residuals and other distribution expenses, interest and overhead, and participations, Disney reportedly spent around $50 million, $40 million, and $130 million. This brings Deadpool & Wolverine’s total expenses to $580 million, leading to a profit of $400 million.
