Jaws 4K, Blu-ray, & Digital Release Date Set for 50th Anniversary

As part of its 50 anniversary celebration, Universal Pictures has announced the Jaws 4K, Blu-ray, and digital release date for Steven Spielberg‘s iconic suspense thriller movie. This comes ahead of the 1975 movie’s theatrical screenings at the 2025 TCM Classic Film Festival, which starts on August 29 and runs through September 4.

“When the seaside community of Amity finds itself under attack by a dangerous great white shark, the town’s chief of police, a young marine biologist and a grizzled shark hunter embark on a desperate quest to destroy the beast before it strikes again,” reads the official synopsis. “Featuring an unforgettable score that evokes pure terror, five decades later, Universal Pictures’ Jaws remains one of the most influential and gripping adventures in motion picture history.”

When is Jaws 4K, Blu-ray, and digital release date?

The Jaws 50th Anniversary edition will be available to purchase on June 17, 2025, in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and digital. The movie will also be available in an all-new limited edition SteelBook with never-before-seen artwork. In addition, the combo pack will also feature a never-before-seen documentary about the making and legacy of the film, titled Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story. The docuseries hails from director Laurent Bouzereau, National Geographic, Amblin Documentaries, Nedland Media, and Wendy Benchley.

The film was directed by Spielberg from a screenplay written by Peter Benchley and Carl Gottlieb based on Benchley’s 1974 novel of the same name. The cast included Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gray, and Murray Hamilton. Since making its debut in 1975, the film has received a near-perfect Tomatometer rating of 97%, based on 148 reviews.
