Directors Joe and Anthony Russo recently announced the start of filming for Avengers: Doomsday.
The director duo posted an image of a chair with Victor Von Doom written in it, and mentioned in the caption, “Day one…” Robert Downey Jr is portraying the role of the villain Doctor Victor Von Doom in Doomsday, which will be his second run with Marvel Studios after playing Iron Man through the Infinity Saga.
The post comes after Marvel Studios’ head, Kevin Feige, spoke at a recent press conference on Sunday. Here, he confirmed the filming start date for Doomsday.
According to a report by Comic Book Resources, Feige said, “Avengers movies are always about incredible actors. who’ve never met before on screen, meeting for the first time and interacting in ways that they’ve never interacted before. That’s my favorite part of Avengers movies. There’s already been a little taste of that with some people sitting here (in the Thunderbolts* cast), and we officially start (filming Avengers: Doomsday) on Monday. So that’s what’s next for us, and it’s very exciting. Day one is Monday.”
Avengers: Doomsday will be bringing stars together from across the MCU like Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Lewis Pullman, Robert Downey Jr, Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Tom Hiddleston, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu and more.
The movie will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, which is expected to be released in May 2027.
