Spider-Man: Brand New Day Update Confirms Cut Daredevil Character Scene Is in Rerelease
A Spider-Man: Brand New Day re-release is reportedly on the way. The record-breaking box office hit will return with a previously unseen cameo appearance.
Sony Pictures is eyeing a re-release of its latest blockbuster Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The movie is in talks to hit the theaters once again, and this time will include a deleted scene with Rosario Dawson’s Daredevil character, Claire Temple. Although the scene did not make it to the original cut, which was released on July 31, it will be unveiled in the upcoming re-release.
Dawson’s Claire Temple has previously appeared in five MCU television series. After making her debut in Daredevil, she appeared in Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders.
During a fan event in July, Dawson recalled filming a cameo scene in Brand New Day as Claire, which did not make it to the big screen at the time. “My character is somewhere in that same universe, and I really love that,” the actress shared. “I hope I get to be Claire again.”
How much money has Spider-Man: Brand New Day made at the box office?

It currently holds the title of the third highest-grossing film of all time, next to Avatar at the top and Avengers: Endgame in the second spot.
Additionally, Brand New Day is the highest-grossing film in the United States and Canada. It is also the highest-grossing film of 2026 for now, with Avengers: Doomsday speculated to claim the spot in December.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day returns with Tom Holland as the webslinger alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. The film also stars Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, and Tramell Tillman as Bill Metzger.
