Watch Tom Cruise’s Darkest Role on a New Streaming Home Before Digger’s Release

Peacock just added one of Tom Cruise’s most chilling performances to its October lineup. The streaming service confirmed the arrival date for the acclaimed Michael Mann thriller alongside other major titles.

Collateral sets Peacock streaming date in October

Peacock announced its full lineup of titles arriving on the platform in October 2026. Notably, the 2004 Michael Mann action thriller Collateral joins the streaming service starting October 1. The film stars Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx in the lead roles.

Collateral follows Max Durocher, a Los Angeles cab driver played by Foxx. However, his passenger Vincent, played by Cruise, turns out to be a hitman on a killing spree. The supporting cast also includes Jada Pinkett Smith, Mark Ruffalo, Peter Berg, and Javier Bardem.

Michael Mann directed and produced the film from a screenplay by Stuart Beattie. Originally, Beattie conceived the story as a 17-year-old after taking a cab home from Sydney Airport. DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures eventually distributed the film upon its original release.

The film grossed $220 million worldwide against a $65 million production budget. Additionally, it opened at number one at the box office with approximately $24.7 million domestically. Collateral also earned an 86% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 238 reviews.

Foxx received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance. Meanwhile, editors Jim Miller and Paul Rubell also earned a nomination for Best Film Editing. Furthermore, the National Board of Review named Collateral among the top ten films of 2004.

To prepare for Vincent, Cruise worked covertly as a FedEx deliveryman in the weeks before filming. In addition, Mann trained Cruise in firearm use and hand-to-hand combat with a retired SAS soldier. The film also marked the first major motion picture shot with a Viper FilmStream camera.

Collateral arrives on Peacock alongside other notable October additions. These include Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day on October 9 and Minions & Monsters on October 28.
