Kristen Stewart, Riley Keough, & 2 More Cast in New Haunting Supernatural Movie

Kristen Stewart, Riley Keough, and two more stars are joining a new haunting supernatural movie from acclaimed director Olivier Assayas. The project marks another collaboration between Stewart and the French filmmaker.

Variety reports that Assayas has set his next film, Spiritual World, with Kristen Stewart, Riley Keough, Vicky Krieps, and Wagner Moura. Barbara Sukowa and Niels Schneider are also part of the international cast. Filming is scheduled to begin in February 2027 in France and Germany.

Stewart will play Ada, a young woman with clairvoyant powers. She is troubled by mysterious premonitions as the story enters supernatural territory. The movie is described as being similar to Personal Shopper, but with a steamier tone.

Spiritual World will be the third film collaboration between Kristen Stewart and Olivier Assayas. They first worked together on Clouds of Sils Maria, which was released in 2014. Stewart won the César Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance.

The pair reunited in 2016 for Personal Shopper. The supernatural drama follows a young woman who works as a personal shopper and experiences unexplained events. Assayas won the Best Director award at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival for the movie.

Assayas is also reuniting with producer Olivier Delbosc for Spiritual World. Delbosc is developing the project through Paris-based Curiosa Films, with ARTE France co-financing the movie.

The director recently made The Wizard of the Kremlin, starring Jude Law and Paul Dano. He has also directed the series Irma Vep, which starred Alicia Vikander.

Meanwhile, Kristen Stewart made her feature directorial debut with The Chronology of Water. She also appeared in Quentin Dupieux’s Full Phil, which screened at Cannes in 2026.

Filming of the Spiritual World is expected to run from February through April 2027. The movie does not have a release date yet.
