Robert Downey Jr. Celebrates Avengers Endgame: Encore With Hilarious Post: ‘Doom Shall Attend’

Robert Downey Jr. took to Instagram to celebrate Avengers Endgame: Encore release. The actor did so in a meta and comedic way, something that fans of the movie would appreciate.

Posting an image depicting Doctor Doom at the movies, his caption read, “Very Well. Doom shall attend, but there will be no sharing of snacks.” Avengers: Endgame famously saw Robert Downey Jr. end his MCU career, with Tony Stark sacrificing himself to defeat Thanos and his army.

Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU later this year

It was announced that Downey Jr. will play Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and is expected to reprise the role in Avengers: Secret Wars. The actor’s return announcement came after Jonathan Majors was removed from his role as Kang the Conqueror following his legal troubles.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty was then renamed Avengers: Doomsday, making Victor Werner von Doom the new antagonist who brings the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men together from across the multiverse. Doomsday will also unite the Fantastic Four from Earth-828, a version of the X-Men played by actors from the Fox era of the IP, the Avengers assembled by Sam Wilson, and the New Avengers that formed in Thunderbolts*.

Doctor Doom made a cameo in Avengers Endgame: Encore. One of the new post-credit scenes added to the movie shows Doctor Doom visiting Bruce Banner after the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Banner, who lost control and unleashed the Hulk, held himself in an isolated bunker. Doom arrives to collect Banner, leaving behind the Latverian symbol. Additional scenes that expand on content from Avengers: Endgame include the arrival of TVA’s version of Loki at Steve and Peggy’s home. This is where they were seen dancing as Avengers: Endgame closed out.
