The Batman’s Robert Pattinson Reacts to Viral Claims About  ‘Generational’ Joker Performance

Robert Pattinson just weighed in on Joker fan-casting. The English actor has responded to fans who believe he could have delivered a major Joker performance in the DC Universe. The actor, who plays Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, was recently pulled into the online discussion after fans noticed similarities between one of his newer performances and Gotham’s most famous villain.

The conversation started on X after fans reacted to Pattinson’s performance as Chris Hansen in the satirical thriller Primetime. Some viewers pointed to the character’s strange behavior, facial expressions, and unpredictable delivery as possible signs that Pattinson could play the Joker.

One post from @woop54 calling a Pattinson Joker performance “generational” received more than seven million views.

However, Pattinson doesn’t appear interested in replacing the actor already connected to the role in Reeves’ version of Gotham. When Entertainment Weekly asked Pattinson whether he had noticed the Joker comparisons or ever considered playing the character, he laughed at the idea.

“Oh, Jesus. I mean, it’s such a great part, but Barry’s the man,” Pattinson said.

Robert Pattinson gives Barry Keoghan his seal of approval as Joker

Pattinson clarified that he supports Barry Keoghan’s version of the Joker. Keoghan appeared in The Batman as an unnamed and heavily scarred inmate at Arkham State Hospital.

Although his appearance was brief, the scene gave fans their first look at the character in Reeves’ Batman universe. A longer five-minute interrogation scene was also released after being cut from the movie.

The two actors could eventually share more scenes if Keoghan returns as the Joker in The Batman Part II. Pattinson has previously spoken positively about working with Keoghan.

For now, Pattinson remains focused on playing Bruce Wayne rather than taking on his most famous enemy.

The Batman Part II is moving forward ahead of its planned theatrical release, while fans continue to debate what Keoghan’s Joker could bring to the next chapter of Reeves’ Gotham story.
