Hunt for Gollum’s First Look at Elijah Wood’s Frodo Has Every LOTR Fan Asking This Question
Elijah Wood‘s Frodo exclusive first look has fans asking similar questions. Every Lord of the Rings fan is wondering how Wood’s character still looks the same.
In a recent update on X from DiscussingFilm, a photo of Wood’s character from The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum was shared. Frodo, spotted wearing a brown-colored outfit, had his back turned to the camera, attempting to open a green door.
@moyos_oreeoluwa wondered how Frodo looked so young as they wrote, “How did they make him look still young?” Next up, @AncientGod14447 praised Wood’s genes and commented, “He has the best genes in Hollywood.” @TolkienWorldG echoed a similar sentiment as they quipped, “Our first look at Elijah Wood as Frodo over the years! There and back again!”
Wood does show signs of aging, as was visible in The Faculty. For his portrayal, a de-aging technology would probably be used.
What else do we know about the LOTR Hunt for Gollum movie with Elijah Wood?
Directed by Andy Serkis, Hunt for Gollum is based on the characters created by J. R. R. Tolkien. Serkis reflected on the timeline of the narrative and told ScreenRant, “Our film takes place between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. And it’s The Hunt for Gollum, and it is a physical hunt for the character, but also a psychological hunt for himself.”
Serkis will reprise Gollum. Besides him, the cast includes Lee Pace, Anya Taylor-Joy, Leo Woodall, Kate Winslet, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, and Jamie Dornan. The fantasy film is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Philippa Boyens, Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Zane Weiner are producing the 2027 adventure epic.
The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2027.
