Kate Beckinsale’s Divisive Horror Movie Finds New Streaming Home After Hulu
Kate Beckinsale‘s most divisive horror franchise entry just found a brand-new streaming home after Hulu. The action-horror sequel will soon be available on another major platform alongside several other big October titles.

Kate Beckinsale’s Underworld: Blood Wars will arrive on Netflix on October 1, 2026. The 2016 action horror film joins a stacked October lineup that also includes East of Eden, The Sixth Sense, and The Devil Wears Prada.
In the film, Beckinsale stars as vampire death dealer Selene in the fifth and final installment of the Underworld franchise. Anna Foerster directed the sequel, which also features Theo James, Charles Dance, and Lara Pulver. Meanwhile, the story follows Selene as both vampires and Lycans hunt her down during an ongoing supernatural war. The film is based on characters created by Kevin Grevioux, Len Wiseman, and Danny McBride.
Underworld: Blood Wars had a production budget of $35 million and grossed $81.1 million worldwide. The film opened to $13.7 million domestically, marking a 49% drop from the previous installment. It holds a 21% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 96 reviews. As a result, it became the lowest-grossing entry in the entire franchise.
Critics largely panned the sequel upon its release. Rolling Stone’s Peter Travers wrote that the franchise “needs [a] stake through the heart.” The Hollywood Reporter’s Frank Scheck called it a “generic, by-the-numbers” exercise. However, Variety’s Owen Gleiberman offered a more positive take, praising the performances of Beckinsale and Dance.
Additionally, the film also landed on Hulu on June 9. However, Hulu has not revealed whether the title will leave. So, the movie may stream on both platforms simultaneously. Apart from this, Netflix’s October slate also features Ben Affleck’s Animals, The Diplomat Season 4, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 among its original offerings.
