Leslie Mann & Anna Faris’ Hilarious Box Office Flop Movie Is Streaming Today
Leslie Mann and Anna Faris‘ comedy movie has finally made its surprise premiere on digital platforms today. The movie was released in theaters in August 2026.
Spa Weekend is now streaming on various digital and premium video-on-demand platforms. The film comes from Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, who co-wrote and co-directed the film. The frequently collaborating duo has previously worked on Bad Moms and A Bad Moms Christmas.
The story follows four childhood friends, Jane, Sophie, Coco, and chaotic Mel, who escape to a luxury resort for a peaceful break. However, their luxury getaway turns into a wild, hilarious, unfiltered weekend of bad choices and deep bonding tests that strengthen their friendship.
Distributed by Black Bear Pictures, the movie opened in theaters on August 21, 2026. One month later, it has moved to digital today, giving the comedy feature a second chance to find an audience after its poor theatrical run.
How Spa Weekend performed at the box office before its Digital release
Spa Weekend struggled to find its footing in theaters with audiences. The film only generated $7 million domestically and $4.4 million internationally, for a total box office gross of $11.4 million, according to The Numbers.
A report from Variety states the film had a production budget of $20 million before marketing and distribution costs. That said, its theatrical earnings fell below the production cost.
Its underperformance also lined up with critical reception. As of writing, the movie holds a 29% “rotten” Tomatometer score based on 45 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. In contrast, audiences rated it 73%.
The R-rated film also stars Isla Fisher, Michelle Buteau, Adam Demos, and Dominic Ona-Ariki. Suzanne Todd and John Friedberg produced the comedic feature for Team Todd and Black Bear Pictures.
The movie has a runtime of 97 minutes and is currently available digitally on Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and YouTube Movies & TV.
