Bob Saget’s Who is Martin Mull? to release on Netflix next month

According to The Independent, Netflix has set October 7, 2026, as the release date for Who Is Martin Mull?, giving the streaming service a new documentary centered on the late comedian, musician, and painter. The project also carries greater significance as the final documentary from Bob Saget, who co-directed and executive-produced the film before his death in 2022.

The documentary follows Mull’s career through interviews, archival footage, and conversations with people who knew him. Steve Martin, Tom Waits, and David Alan Grier are among those featured, while footage of Saget interviewing Mull appears in the newly released trailer.

The film presents Mull’s career through his own recollections as well as stories from friends and colleagues. Mull died in June 2024 at the age of 80. He had appearances on The Tonight Show and featured in Clue and Arrested Development. He was also known for playing Leon Carp on Roseanne.

Saget and Neil Berkeley started developing the documentary in 2018. Saget remained involved as a director and executive producer, but his death at 65 brought an unexpected change to the production. He died in 2022 after suffering accidental head trauma caused by an unwitnessed fall while on a stand-up tour. Berkeley subsequently continued the project and completed the documentary.

Alongside Saget, Kevin S. Bright, Morgan Neville, and Caitrin Rogers also serve as executive producers. Sean Bradley, Tara Billik and Berkeley are among the producers of the project.
