Lee Pace & Marsai Martin Join DC’s New Batman Movie, Steve Buscemi in Talks
Batman’s two notable sidekicks may have found their voices. DC Studios‘ new animated movie appears to have locked in its cast. Production has reportedly begun to ramp up after two years in development.
According to industry insider Jeff Sneider, DC Studios’ Dynamic Duo animated project has brought in several popular actors as its main voice cast. Lee Pace will reportedly voice the main villain, Red Hood One. The actor has previously appeared in The Hobbit trilogy, Practical Magic 2, as well as the MCU movies Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel. He has also voiced Thragg in Invincible.
Meanwhile, The Black Phone star Mason Thames will reportedly voice Dick Grayson, the first Robin. Additionally, The Walking Dead: Dead City actor Logan Kim is set to play Jason Todd, the second Robin. Marsai Martin from Black-ish will voice Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl.

The new Batman movie is adding more voices to its growing cast
The insider’s new post also reveals other major actors who are reportedly in talks to join the voice cast of Dynamic Duo. Steve Buscemi may join the project for Red Hood Two. Meanwhile, Chris Pine is being eyed to voice Batman. However, readers must note that DC Studios has not made any official announcement regarding the upcoming movie’s voice cast.
Dynamic Duo was first announced in 2024 with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. Instead of focusing on the dynamic between Batman and Robin, the movie will reportedly follow the origin story of the two Robins, Dick Grayson and Jason Todd.
The movie promises a unique cinematic visual, blending stop-motion techniques with CGI and live-action puppetry. It will be written by Matthew Aldrich. Meanwhile, New Orleans-based Swaybox will handle the animation, with married co-founders Arthur Mintz and Theresa Andersson directing and producing, respectively.
DC Studios co-chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran are producing the movie alongside Matt Reeves and Theresa Andersson.
