Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Scrapped Black Suit Surfaces at Auction
Fans who want a rare piece of Spider-Man: Brand New Day clothing now have the chance to get one. A prototype suit presented as a piece from the new MCU film has now entered the market and is currently up for auction. The stunt suit appears to be a costume that was supposed to be worn by Tom Holland, but never made its way onto the film.
The suit bears a striking resemblance to the classic Spider-Man suit worn by Miles Morales in the eponymous PlayStation video game. The suit features a red-and-black color scheme, with a V-shape stretching from the groin to the arms. The Spider symbol on the suit is also eerily similar to that used by Miles Morales in the game. Bids can be made on the suit on iCollector.
The auction listing offers a closer look at the prototype and its connection to Spider-Man: Brand New Day
It should be noted that the suit’s connection to the film and whether the design was actually intended for the movie have not been officially confirmed. The auction listing should therefore be treated as an unconfirmed claim rather than an established piece of the film’s production history.
Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have teased a black suit for Holland’s version of Spider-Man multiple times. However, it remains to be seen whether the superhero will get his iconic symbiote suit in the MCU. Holland has worn multiple suits throughout his tenure as the hero. It is unclear when and where Holland’s Spider-Man will reappear in the MCU. Fans are expecting the hero to turn up in either of the upcoming Avengers sequels.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day recently crossed $1 billion at the domestic box office, becoming the highest-grossing film of all time in the country. Sony Pictures recently extended the film’s theatrical run to November.
