Bad Day at the Office puts John Hannah at the center of a relentless fight for survival
The footage shows Karl battling attackers while trying to understand what happened. It also introduces hotel maid Molly, played by Radha Mitchell. She gets caught in the dangerous situation surrounding Karl.
The movie follows Karl as he tries to recover his missing memories and uncover the conspiracy behind his ordeal. His forgotten combat abilities become important as more people pursue him.
Director Chee Keong Cheung filmed the movie entirely from a first-person perspective. GoPro cameras capture the action through the viewpoints of the characters. As a result, fights, chases, and explosions unfold directly through their eyes. That approach gives the trailer a video-game-like feel, while its action recalls movies built around nonstop physical movement.
John Hannah leads the cast alongside Mitchell, Tamer Hassan, and Lana Parrilla. Cheung co-wrote the screenplay with Oliver Morran and also serves as director. Cheung described the production as a technically complex and very physical creative challenge.
The film had its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on August 13. It opened the festival’s Midnight Madness strand, which showcases genre-focused movies.
Bad Day at the Office is scheduled to arrive in UK and Irish cinemas on October 30, 2026.
