Brad Pitt Addresses One Big Problem With Potential F1 & Days of Thunder Crossover

Brad Pitt has pointed out a big hurdle to an F1 and Days of Thunder crossover. Fans of both Pitt and Tom Cruise have long been waiting to see the duo work together in the crossover project.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Pitt was asked whether he would be interested in working with Tom Cruise. While the 62-year-old did not reject the idea, he did raise a major concern that might prevent the dream project from taking shape. Pitt said, “The problem is we [Cruise and Tom Cruise] both want to win.”

Speculation about Cruise and Pitt working together on a racing movie has gained significant traction recently. When Jerry Bruckheimer was asked the same by Entertainment Tonight at D23, he said, “I would love that. I would love that. It would be great to put those two amazing actors together”

Is there an F1 and Days of Thunder crossover officially in the works?

Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski has become known for reviving older franchises. Kosinski may now be interested in bringing back Tom Cruise’s 1990 racing movie Days of Thunder. Additionally, the director has also expressed interest in pairing Pitt and Cruise for the project.

In an interview with GQ Magazine, Joseph Kosinski reflected on the idea and said, “Right now, it’d be Cole Trickle [Cruise’s Days of Thunder character]. We find out that he and Sonny Hayes [Pitt’s character in the F1 movie] have a past. They were rivals at some point, maybe crossed paths…”

The filmmaker further added, “I heard about this epic go-kart battle on Interview with the Vampire that Brad and Tom had, and who wouldn’t pay to see those two go head-to-head on the track?”

While the F1 director expressed interest in bringing Cruise and Pitt together, no official news about the project’s development has been announced yet.
