What do we see in the Concessions trailer?
Written and directed by Mas Bouzidi, Concessions centers on the final day at the Royal Alamo Cinema. It follows the employees, outcasts, and oddballs whose lives intersect in unexpected stories of rejection, fate, and redemption, before the theater closes its doors for good.
The trailer opens with Michael Madsen’s Rex taking a seat beside a patron of the Royal Alamo Cinema watching an action film. He then tells the lady, “Pretty good movie. I’m in it.” It then introduces the premise by showing the theater on the verge of being taken down.
The owner, played by Steven Ogg, says in an interview, “My father built this theater in 1973, and anyone living in this town or who loves movies probably had a life-changing experience here.”
The trailer then shifts into a humorous montage of the dying theater and the employees trying to survive within it. The vignettes feature highlights from the movie, offering a glimpse into the heartfelt comedy-drama.
Alongside Madsen and Ogg, the movie also stars Josh Hamilton, Ivory Aquino, Lana Rockwell, Greg Roman, Rob Riordan, Jonathan Lorenzo Price, and Max Madsen.
Concessions first premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on August 15, 2025.
