Amanda Seyfried & Thomas Sadoski’s Marriage Split Confirmed, Actors Issue Statement on Divorce
Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski have decided to part ways after nine years of marriage. The former couple released a joint statement confirming their separation.
“We have been separated for a while,” Seyfried and Sadoski told People. “And it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We’ve got each other forever—and it’s GOOD.”
The actors share two children and have mostly kept their private lives away from the spotlight.
How Amanda Seyfried & Thomas Sadoski’s relationship evolved over the years
Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski first met in 2015 while starring together in the Off-Broadway play The Way We Get By. They later shared the screen in the 2017 comedy-drama The Last Word, where they played love interests. Their on-screen chemistry turned into a real-life romance, and the pair began dating in early 2016.
The couple confirmed their engagement on September 12, 2016, before tying the knot in March 2017. “We eloped,” Sadoski revealed at the time. “We just took off into the country with an officiant and just the two of us, and we did our thing. It was beautiful. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other.”
Following their wedding, Sadoski called Seyfried “the person that I love, admire, and respect most in the world.” In 2023, the Mean Girls actress described her relationship with her husband as having “yin and yang.”
Seyfried and Sadoski welcomed their first child, daughter Nina, shortly after their wedding. Three years later, they had their son Thomas Jr. in September 2020.
Most recently, Seyfried told Vogue in a January 2026 interview that Sadoski “sacrifices a lot for me.” She added, “He also knows that, in this moment, the opportunities I’m being afforded are insane. I do say no a lot.”
Meanwhile, Seyfried recently joined the cast of Octet, an upcoming musical film directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda. She will share the screen with Rachel Zegler, Gaten Matarazzo, and Jonathan Groff.
