The trailer for I Have Proof is out and offers a glimpse of a disturbing, uniquely filmed horror movie. This first trailer for the upcoming psychological horror film offers audiences a terrifying look at the project, which was shot entirely on vintage VHS-C videocassettes.

The trailer shows a girl being stalked through a series of fast-forwarded clips. According to the film’s official synopsis, “Alex has proof. He needs you to see it. I HAVE PROOF is a psychological descent where reality is never quite what it seems.”

Directed and written by acclaimed genre filmmaker James Cullen Bressack, the horror film was shot entirely on old VHS-C videocassettes to achieve an authentic lo-fi aesthetic.

The movie stars Larsen Deane, Lilly Van der Meer, Augie Duke, B.J. Hendricks, Kelly Lynn Reiter, and David Josh Lawrence in its ensemble.

I Have Proof expands its unsettling world beyond the VHS footage

I Have Proof stands out in the found-footage and analog horror space because it is being shot entirely on vintage VHS-C videocassettes. It relies heavily on a decaying sense of reality, favoring raw, physical media over standard digital effects.

To achieve this feat, the production team reportedly purchased around 30 blank or used family home videos from eBay to record over.

While the plot details are being kept under wraps, the film is said to be psychologically charged and to favor “texture, imperfection, and immediacy over polish,” according to Bressack’s comments to The Hollywood Reporter, as it explores a deteriorating sense of reality.

Speaking about his unconventional latest work, Bressack said, “This is me going back to raw, stripped-down horror. I saw a review on Letterboxd from someone who liked my early work and said they missed when I used to make grungy horror films. It stuck with me. It pushed me to return to that space and make something that feels immediate and real for those who watched my films in the beginning. We’re leaning fully into analog to create something AI couldn’t replicate and wouldn’t even know how to approach; something human and raw.”

I Have Proof is scheduled to premiere in the United States at Fantastic Fest on September 21, 2026.
