Avengers: Doomsday’s Recent Release Noticeably Omits a MCU Character & Fans Have Questions
A new Avengers: Doomsday collectible lineup omits a beloved MCU character. These figurines will be available for sale ahead of the Marvel movie’s release. However, it has also made fans question the whereabouts of the missing character.
On September 15, the first look at Avengers: Doomsday Funko Bitty Pops was revealed. But fans noticed that Loki was missing from all the figurines in the image, prompting questions in the comments. For instance, @GorouCOOL wrote, “Loki, where are you,’ and echoed the comment @winteryskyya added, “Where is my Loki?”
Alongside the God of Stories, other notable characters, such as Mistique, Ghost, and Sue Storm, were also missing. As @Charita12 put, “Loki? Why the ef is Gambit everywhere? Where are some women?” Similarly, most of the comments in the reposts questioned the absence of the Loki Funko Pop, along with other missing women in the MCU.
What the Avengers: Doomsday collectibles tell us about Marvel’s next big story
Although a beloved character was missing from the Avengers: Doomsday Bitty Pop lineup, it did feature some characters that are integral to the story of the upcoming movie. These characters included Shuri’s Black Panther, Cyclops, Mister Fantastic, Professor X, Yelena, Sam Wilson’s Captain America, Johnny Storm, Gambit, Doctor Doom, Thor, Nightcrawler, and Magneto.
These collectibles strongly suggest the multiversal collision set to occur in the upcoming movie. Doomsday will have the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Avengers teaming up to fight a single threat in the multiverse, which is Doctor Doom.
However, the missing characters in the Bitty Pop collection could also indicate the surviving characters of the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars. Yet the plot details of Secret Wars have not been confirmed. Besides, the collection could launch more Bitty Pop figurines before Doomsday hits theaters.
The upcoming movie stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Vanessa Kirby, and Channing Tatum, among others. It will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026. The release of Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.
