Tom Hardy & Andy Serkis’ Spider-Man Movie Swings Onto Disney+ Today

Disney+ has just added Tom Hardy and Andy Serkis‘ latest Venom movie to its library today, Tuesday. Fans can now stream the popular superhero flick from the comfort of their home.

Venom: The Last Dance is streaming on Disney+ starting today, August 25, 2026. Written and directed by Kelly Marcel, it serves as the fifth installment in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU). Other projects within the franchise include Spider-Noir, Kraven the Hunter, Madame Web, and more.

What to know about Tom Hardy’s Venom: The Last Dance

Venom: The Last Dance is the sequel to Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021). The movie premiered in 2024 and returns with Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and Venom.

The Last Dance follows Venom and Eddie as they are the targets of both their worlds, and the pair is constantly on the run. As they continue to dodge threats from a vigilant military leader and the ruthless creature named Xenophage, they are left with a dangerous last resort.

In addition to Hardy, the movie stars Andy Serkis as Knull, the creator of the symbiotes, Chiwetel Ejiofor as General Rex Strickland, Juno Temple as Dr. Theodora “Teddy” Paine, Rhys Ifans as Martin Moon, Stephen Graham as Patrick Mulligan, Peggy Lu as Mrs. Chen, Clark Backo as Sadie “Christmas,” and Alanna Ubach as Nova Moon.

In February 2026, it was announced that an animated Venom film is in pre-development at Sony, with Final Destination Bloodlines directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein in talks to helm it (via The Hollywood Reporter). Hardy was also attached as a producer. But it was unknown whether he would reprise his role as the titular symbiote. Sony has not given any further updates regarding the project.

However, Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman revealed that there are no new movies in development within SSU. “We never looked at it as the “Sony-Marvel Universe,”” Rothman told Variety in August 2026. “We looked at if there were worthwhile movies to make with other characters. At the moment, there are none in active development.” So, it appears that the animated Venom film may not happen after all.
