Melissa McCarthy’s Santa Claus Movie Sets Release Date, Andrew Scott & More Cast

Melissa McCarthy‘s new Santa Claus animated movie with Andrew Scott and others has locked its release date. The film is directed by Kirk DeMicco (The Croods, Space Chimps), from a screenplay by Ben Falcone and Damon Jones.

Animated movie Margie Claus, from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, will hit theaters on November 12, 2027, reports Deadline. Additionally, it will feature numerous original songs written and produced by Grammy-winning, multi-platinum-selling artist Meghan Trainor alongside Falcone and Jones.

Melissa McCarthy was most recently seen in 2024’s comedy film Unfrosted alongside Jerry Seinfeld, Eleanor Sweeney, Amy Schumer, and more.

Besides the Primetime Emmy Award winner, Margie Claus animated movie’s voice cast features other notable names as well. They include Cole Escola (Difficult People), Jim Gaffigan (Unfrosted, Duck Duck Goose), Andrew Scott (Sherlock, All of Us Strangers), Annie Mumolo (Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar), Octavia Spencer (Ride or Die, Hidden Figures), and Georgette Falcone.

Other key voice cast members include Gary Farmer (Skins, Dreamkeeper), Luis Gerardo Méndez (We Are the Nobles, Technoboys), Cedric Yarbrough (Speechless), and Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Bodies Bodies Bodies).

Margie Claus’ story will see Santa Claus going missing on Christmas Eve. To get him back and save Christmas, his wife Margie will then assemble an unqualified rescue team while venturing to the South Pole.

“I love Christmas so much, and so does Margie Claus,” said McCarthy on being part of the animated project. “Our story is about showing up for the people you love the most at the holidays, and it’s a reminder that you don’t have to be perfect to be lovable.”

Margie Claus has McCarthy and Falcone serving as the producers alongside Oscar-winning producer Michelle L.M. Wong.

Interestingly, the animated movie was originally set for a November 5, 2027 theatrical release. Later, it got delayed by a week and will now arrive on November 12, 2027.
