Denis Villeneuve Has a Special Message for Dune 3 Fans Ahead of Imax Release

Denis Villeneuve just dropped a personal message for Dune 3 fans, and it’s exactly what they wanted to hear. The director addressed ticket demand and confirmed expanded availability ahead of the film’s holiday Imax release.

Denis Villeneuve promises more Dune 3 Imax tickets

Denis Villeneuve shared a special video message on the official Dune Movie Instagram account confirming expanded ticket availability for Dune: Part Three. He addressed fans directly, acknowledging their demand for greater access to insider screenings. The director confirmed that additional tickets will cover IMAX, IMAX 70mm, and all premium formats.

“Thank you for your enthusiasm for the upcoming release of Dune Part 3,” Villeneuve said in the video. “We heard you loud and clear on wanting access to more tickets.” Moreover, he added that fans can be among the first to experience the movie across all premium screening options.

“I’m happy that we’ll have more of them available for you tomorrow, so you too can be among the first to experience the movie in IMAX, including IMAX 70mm as well as all premium formats,” Villeneuve continued. Separately, a post on the same account announced tickets for insider screenings go on sale tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the expanded availability comes amid strong early demand for the film’s premium screenings. Notably, IMAX 70mm screenings across 38 theaters are already seeing dozens of sellouts on opening weekend. Furthermore, round-the-clock showtimes could see continued high demand through Christmas weekend and beyond, according to theatrical sources.

Additionally, Dune: Part Three will hold exclusive access to IMAX theaters through the holidays. The film faces competition from Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, which promotes other premium formats through Disney’s Infinity Vision campaign. However, early presale momentum suggests both films can thrive during the holiday period.

Dune: Part Two earned $714 million globally in 2024. As a result, strong critical and audience reception could help the finale surpass that total. Villeneuve closed his message with a simple send-off. “See you soon at the theater,” he said. “Bon cinema.”
