You Only Have a Few Weeks To Watch All Rocky & Creed Movies Before They Exit Streaming

Among the titles leaving Netflix in the coming weeks are the Sylvester Stallone-led Rocky movies, along with the Creed films. The long-running boxing franchise passed the torch from Stallone to Michael B. Jordan, who leads the Creed films, which act as sequels to the Rocky movies.

All six Rocky movies and Creed trilogy are leaving Netflix next month

Boxing enthusiasts with an active Netflix subscription who wish to catch the Rocky movies should do so soon, as all six movies in the franchise, along with the Creed trilogy, will leave the streaming platform soon. All nine movies are set to leave the streaming service on September 1 (via What’s on Netflix).

Created by Sylvester Stallone, the original Rocky movie was released in 1976. The movie and its sequels revolve around the fictional life of a boxer from Philadelphia named Rocky Balboa, who fights against all odds to gain worldwide recognition. Sylvester Stallone not only portrayed the iconic fighter throughout the franchise, but also penned the scripts for all six Rocky movies. He even directed four films in the series, with John G. Avildsen assuming directorial responsibilities for the first and fifth entries.

On the other hand, the Creed trilogy deals with the journey of Adonis Creed, played by Michael B. Jordan, who is the son of Apollo Creed, Rocky’s former nemesis-turned-ally, who joins forces with a retired Balboa to forge his own legacy in the sport.

The Rocky franchise has been a mainstay in pop culture ever since the release of the first film in 1976, which secured three Academy Award wins, including Best Picture. The franchise has also proven to be a box-office juggernaut, with the Rocky movies bringing in $495.4 million. Meanwhile, the Creed trilogy has garnered over $664.5 million at the worldwide box office, pushing the franchise total well over $1.1 billion, as per Box Office Mojo.
