Beginning today, 2024’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is finally available to stream on Prime Video. It served as the standalone sequel to Matt Reeves’ 2017 film War for the Planet of the Apes. The movie starred Owen Teague as Noa, Freya Allen as Nova, Durand as Proximus Caesar, Peter Macon as Raka, Dichen Lachman as Korina, and Macy as Trevathan. It received an 80% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 330 reviews.
“Set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, apes are living harmoniously as the dominant species — and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows,” reads the synopsis. “As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.”
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was directed by Wes Ball, with Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison writing the screenplay. The film was produced by Ball, Joe Hartwick Jr, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Jason Reed, with Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping executive producing.
