X-Men: Obsession’s Inde Navarrette Reveals Marvel Meeting & Which MCU Role She Wants
Inde Navarrette has become one of Hollywood’s fastest-rising stars after the success of Obsession. The actress has revealed that she recently met with Marvel Studios and told them the name of the X-Men character she wishes to play.
Talking about this meeting on Variety‘s Up Next podcast, Inde Navarrette said that ever since the release of Obsession, she has been in contact with many filmmakers. One of them was Jake Schreier, the director of Thunderbolts and Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men film. Navarrette grew up watching the original Fox X-Men movies as a child. She said, “I thought what Jake brought to Thunderbolts was what I used to love about Marvel. It was character-driven, and I couldn’t stop raving about how much he did for Marvel.”
However, the 25-year-old added that not every meeting transforms into a project. “That’s kind of the luxury I have right now, meeting all these different kinds of people. Not all of those meetings turn into projects, but sometimes it’s just, ‘I really want to work with you. I’ve seen this project, and this one, and this one.'”
Why Mystique remains one of Marvel’s most coveted roles
When asked which mutant she would like to play, Inde Navarrette replied without hesitation, “Mystique has always been super cool.”
Mystique remains one of Marvel’s favorite X-Men characters. Two actresses, Rebecca Romijn and Jennifer Lawrence, were cast to play the shape-shifting mutant in live-action. Mystique is expected to appear in Avengers: Doomsday before the new X-Men group is introduced after Avengers: Secret Wars.
Given the fact that Jake Schreier is going to direct a new X-Men movie and Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey has already joined the MCU, fans might be waiting to see who will join the next generation of mutants.
