Tom Holland Reveals Which One of Zendaya’s Co-Stars Would Be a Great Spider-Man

Tom Holland suggests which one of Zendaya’s co-stars would make a spectacular Spider-Man. The actor debuted in the MCU as Peter Parker in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. With this year’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, he will have completed a decade of being the Marvel superhero.

Speaking to Josh Horowitz, Holland touched on other actors who could pick up the mantle of the wall-crawler if he didn’t get it himself. When asked if he wonders about an alternate reality where Timothée Chalamet got cast as Spider-Man, he said, “I think he would make a great Spider-Man.

“I think he would really bring a lot of emotion. I think he would be a more brooding version of the character, which might be kind of interesting. Sure. And you know, maybe I got Dune.”

What lies ahead for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man after Brand New Day

Following Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the future is unclear for fans about what will happen with Spider-Man. In the same interview, Holland revealed that he doesn’t know anything about Marvel’s plans for bringing Spider-Man into Avengers: Secret Wars. However, he does have an exit plan to leave the role when the time comes.

Fans have long speculated that Spider-Man will eventually get his hands on the symbiote, paving the way for the black suit and Venom. The actor said he was unsure about the suit’s design and implementation should that ever come to pass. On the topic of Venom, he also revealed Sony Pictures planned to cross him over more directly with the MCU’s Spider-Man.

While Chalamet didn’t suit up as Spider-Man, he is leading his own sci-fi franchise, with its conclusion, Dune: Part 3, releasing later this year.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
