Written and directed by Steven Knight, Locke premiered on September 2, 2013. Set almost entirely during a single car journey, the film follows Ivan Locke, a successful construction manager whose personal and professional life begins to unravel after he makes a life-altering decision. On the eve of overseeing the biggest project of his career, Locke drives from Birmingham to London to be present for the birth of a child conceived from a one-night affair.

As he makes the journey, a series of phone calls forces him to confess the truth to his wife, speak with his colleagues and boss about the secret he is carrying, and confront the personal and professional consequences of his mistake. Hardy leads the film as Ivan Locke and is the only actor to appear on screen throughout its runtime.

The film’s supporting voice cast features Olivia Colman as Bethan Maguire, Ruth Wilson as Katrina Locke, Andrew Scott as Donal, Ben Daniels as Gareth, Tom Holland as Eddie Locke, and Bill Milner as Sean Locke, among others.
