The Last Sunrise debuts on Amazon Prime Video on Sunday, August 26, 2026. The streamer announced the release date on X (formerly Twitter). The caption read, “New look, same story you love. The Last Sunrise premieres August 26.”

Ahead of the release, the cast attended the Obsessed Fest event, where they unveiled the first look at their upcoming film. Prime Video later posted the images on X.

The Last Sunrise is based on Anna Todd’s eponymous novel. It centers on Oriah “Ry” Pera, a young woman with chronic health problems who has spent her life under the care of her overprotective mother, Isolde. But when Isolde’s job takes her and Ry to Majorca, Spain, Ry begins to break free of her mother’s control.

In Majorca, Ry meets Juliàn, a local Spaniard who encourages her to embrace new experiences and live life to the fullest. But with the threat of returning to America growing closer, Ry has little time to decide how she wants to live her life.

Carlson Young helmed the adaptation from a screenplay by Anna Klassen. The cast features Maia Reficco as Oriah “Ry” Pera, Fernando Lindez as Juliàn, Eva Longoria as Isolde Pera, Andrés Velencoso as Mateo, Chloé Sweetlove as Amara, and Sabrina Bartlett as Prisha, among others.

Amazon MGM Studios is handling The Last Sunrise’s distribution. Todd is co-producing the film in collaboration with Luber Roklin Entertainment, Pitt Street Productions, and Ethea Entertainment.

Earlier in June, Prime Video debuted Your Fault: London, a sequel to its 2025 hit film, My Fault: London. It was based on Mercedes Ron’s novel and starred Asha Banks and Matthew Broome. It garnered a respectable rating from users, earning 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.
