‘So Terrible’: Supergirl Has Fans Mad About This 1 Specific Thing in DCU Movie

Supergirl is out now in theaters and fans are mad about one specific element of the movie. It’s the second feature from the DCU following last year’s Superman starring Milly Alcock and directed by Craig Gillespie.

What part of Supergirl has DCU fans mad?

As everyone is quickly racing to see Supergirl and get their opinions out there, there’s one thing that almost everyone seems to agree on. Most critics, and now audiences, agree that the needle drop towards the end of the movie is not as good as DC Studios hoped for. During the final battle of the film, a cover of Jimmy Eat World’s The Middle starts playing. The song, according to fans who’ve now watched the film, doesn’t work in the movie at all.

One fan blasted the song choice on social media, writing, “That final needle drop in SUPERGIRL is so terrible I disintegrated in my seat”. Another fan shared the sentiment, writing, “i need to know who the hell approved *that* needle drop near the end of supergirl”. The hate for the song choice continued as another fan expressed their astonishment at its inclusion, writing, “THE NEEDLE DROP AT THE END OF SUPERGIRL WAS RIDICULOUSFJKSKSNFNDMS?????”

While those reactions sound bad, another fan made a bold claim, writing, “Don’t wanna be dramatic but Supergirl may genuinely have the worst needle drop ever.”

For those who’ve yet to see the film and are curious about the song, check it out below.

The reviews for Supergirl have now settled, with the film achieving a dubious record for the DCU. At the time of writing, Supergirl has a 57% score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 214 reviews. However, the film’s audience score tells a very different story. SuperHeroHype’s Matt Morrison liked the film, calling it a “worthy entry in the DCU canon.”

Supergirl is now playing in theaters.
