Are We There Yet 3 Cast: Which Stars Are Confirmed & Could Return for Ice Cube Sequel
This week, it was reported that an Are We There Yet 3 is in development. Here’s what we know about the sequel and who will be back.
According to reports, the sequel is set to be written by Chris Hazzard and Mike Fontana and follow an older Chris (Ice Cube) as he deals with his grandchildren. The movie would be the third in the franchise following a 2007 sequel, Are We Done Yet?, as well as a spin-off TV series that premiered in 2010 and ran for three seasons.
Confirmed Are We There Yet 3 cast
So far, only two stars are reported to be back for the third movie. Thankfully, they’re the biggest stars from the original. Variety notes that both Ice Cube and Nia Long are set to reunite for the third movie. In the original movie, Ice Cube played the role of Nick Persons and Nia Long plays the role of Suzanne Kingston. Nick meets Suzanne and offers to take her two children on a road trip in his brand new Lincoln Navigator to prove he’s up to the task of being in their lives. The problem, though, is that Suzanne’s two kids don’t want their mom with anyone, so they try to sabotage Ice Cube and the trip along the way.
Unconfirmed Are We There Yet 3 returning cast
Outside of Ice Cube and Long, no one else has been reported to be back as of yet. The original film starred Aleisha Allen and Phillip Daniel Bolden as Lindsey and Kevin Kingston, respectively.
Allen hasn’t worked in an acting capacity since 2012, and she notes that she’s now a medical speech-language pathologist on her social media platforms, so it’s unknown if she’ll be back. However, she often references her past roles positively on social media, so there is a chance she could be ready for a return. Bolden continues to work in Hollywood, although its also unconfirmed if he’ll be back. Both stars did appear in the sequel film in 2007.
Outside of those two, it’s unlikely any of the original cast will return. Most of the rest of the cast from the first two films were comprised of cameos or roles that were not reprised for either film, including actors like Jay Mohr and M.C. Gainey.
