Star Wars: Starfighter Production Hit by Stunt Performer Injury

What happened on the Star Wars: Starfighter set?
Star Wars: Starfighter movie’s production was temporarily halted after one of the stunt performers lost their thumb following an injury, reports The Scottish Sun. The incident dates back to December 2025, when a performer had their hand pressed against some sort of machine while preparing for a stunt.
As a result, the filming on Star Wars: Starfighter was briefly stopped so that the injured performer could receive proper medical treatment. During the incident, all other crew members were shocked after witnessing the horrifying accident.
Despite the interruption, production reportedly resumed quickly to stay on schedule. The injured performer is said to be fine now.

Speaking of the upcoming Star Wars movie, not many details are known regarding its plot. However, recent rumors have revealed some interesting elements about the story and Ryan Gosling’s character.
The movie also features actress Mia Goth in a crucial role. According to insider FivesWalker, she might be seen playing a force-sensitive mercenary, who works for a warlord and arms dealer reportedly played by Matt Smith. It’s also speculated that she might be seen hunting Gosling’s nephew.
As for Gosling’s character, he is rumored to be codenamed Damon, “a renowned pilot and war hero whose fame has made him a known person.” The scooper also claimed the character “was initially written to be in his early 30s before Gosling was cast.”
Besides Gosling and Goth, the movie also includes Aaron Pierre and Amy Adams, who is rumored to be playing the force-sensitive mother of Flynn Gray, the nephew of Gosling’s character.
The Star Wars: Starfighter movie is set to release on May 28, 2027.
