Netflix Adds Pierce Brosnan & Alexandra Daddario’s $428 Million Fantasy Movies
Two popular adventure fantasy movies from 20th Century Studios have just been added to Netflix‘s expanding library. These movies are part of a blockbuster franchise starring Pierce Brosnan and Alexandra Daddario, which currently has a combined worldwide gross of over $428 million.
What Pierce Brosnan movies are now on Netflix?
Starting today, 2010’s Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and 2013’s Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters are officially available to stream on Netflix. The live-action film franchise was based on Rick Riordan’s bestselling novel series, which was inspired by Greek mythology. The ensemble cast included Logan Lerman as Percy, Daddario as Annabeth, Brandon T. Jackson as Grover, Brosnan as Chiron, Steve Coogan as Hades, Sean Bean as Zeus, Jake Abel as Luke Castellan, Uma Thurman as Medusa, Catherine Keener as Sally Jackson, Stanley Tucci as Mr. D, and more.
“Always trouble-prone, the life of teenager Percy Jackson gets a lot more complicated when he learns he’s the son of the Greek god Poseidon,” reads the official synopsis for the first installment. “At a training ground for the children of deities, Percy learns to harness his divine powers and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime: he must prevent a feud among the Olympians from erupting into a devastating war on Earth, and rescue his mother from the clutches of Hades, god of the underworld.”
Despite the franchise’s popularity, both movies received low Tomatometer scores on Rotten Tomatoes (The Lightning Thief: 48%; Sea of Monsters: 43%). At the moment, the Percy Jackson franchise lives on through Disney+’s popular TV adaptation, starring Walker Scobell as the titular demigod. It is slated to return for a third season, which will be based on Riordan’s third Percy Jackson book, The Titan’s Curse.
