A reliable insider has revealed a crucial update on Scarlett Johansson and Charles Dance’s roles in The Batman 2. The sequel to 2022’s blockbuster movie will see Robert Pattinson returning in the titular role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Jeff Sneider, an entertainment insider with a strong track record, has revealed that Scarlett Johansson won’t play Gilda Dent, the wife of Harvey Dent/Two-Face, in The Batman 2.
Previous rumors suggested that Sebastian Stan could play Harvey Dent, while Johansson was linked to the role of Gilda Dent. But that’s not the case, according to Sneider, who revealed the shift in roles on The InSneider. Additionally, Charles Dance was expected to play Harvey’s father. Now, it appears that both Johansson and Dance are playing other characters.
Sneider revealed, “As for Johansson and Dance’s roles, my sources have opted to keep them under wraps, though one said they aren’t playing big names in the Batman universe, but more like a ‘meld’ of different characters.”
Fans should still take everything with a grain of salt until there is an official confirmation.
While details about Johansson and Dance’s characters are unknown, Sneider has claimed that Harvey Dent’s character will be played by Brian Tyree Henry. As for Sebastian Stan, who was rumored to play the DC villain, he is reportedly playing the supervillain character of Victor Zsasz.
Additionally, more villains are rumored to appear in The Batman 2. In another update from Sneider, it was reported that the sequel will feature the Court of Owls. “Meanwhile, I’m also told that the Court of Owls is indeed involved in The Batman Part II,” he said.
The scooper added, “The group is an ancient secret society of criminals that includes some of Gotham City’s oldest and wealthiest families, who have controlled Gotham from the shadows for centuries, and enforce their will using a group of deadly assassins known as Talons.”
The Batman 2 releases in theaters on October 1, 2027.
