Avengers: Doomsday is expected to feature several surprise heroes in addition to its already stacked cast. The upcoming MCU crossover film will unite the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and the Avengers in their fight against Doctor Doom.
While Marvel has announced the film’s official cast, many fans believe that, like its predecessors, Avengers: Doomsday will keep some characters hidden from its marketing campaign.

Avengers: Doomsday has continued to add new members to its cast in the months since its announcement. Most recently, it added Kathryn Newton’s Cassie Lang, who will reprise her role from Ant-Man 3. Following that, fans have begun speculating about which other surprise cast members may appear in Doomsday.

The big three casting predictions include Deadpool, Wolverine, and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, which would unite the heroes of the pre-MCU franchises. Of course, all three characters have already appeared in the MCU in separate projects. Reports have suggested that Reynolds’ Deadpool could appear in the film, but Marvel has yet to confirm that. Jackman has also not directly said no when asked whether he’ll appear alongside the Avengers. Tobey Maguire’s return has already been the subject of many rumors.
As for the other heroes, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange is closely tied to the multiverse, and recent alleged leaks show him beside Doctor Doom. While The Marvels bombed at the box office, it set up an intriguing crossover between the MCU and the X-Men universe. With that said, users on Kalshi are betting high on Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau’s return.
Avengers: Doomsday will deal with the multiverse and its potential collapse, making another multiversal crossover all the more likely. After all, the original X-Men from the 20th Century Fox era of films are coming back.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently slated to release in theaters on December 18, 2026. The film will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars the following year.
