One of Focus Features’ award-winning drama movies from 2014 has finally been added to Netflix‘s library. Starting today, Charlie Cox and Eddie Redmayne‘s Stephen Hawking biographical drama The Theory of Everything is officially available to stream on Netflix.

What do we know about Charlie Cox & Eddie Redmayne’s acclaimed movie?

The Theory of Everything was directed by James Marsh, with Anthony McCarten writing the screenplay. It was based on Jane Hawking’s 2007 memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen Hawking. In the movie, Redmayne delivered an Oscar-winning leading performance as the famous theoretical physicist who had a motor neuron disease that gradually paralyzed him. Meanwhile, Cox played Jonathan Hellyer Jones, a widowed choirmaster who eventually became an important figure in the Hawking family.

“In the 1960s, Cambridge University student and future physicist Stephen Hawking fell in love with fellow collegian Jane Wilde. At 21, Hawking learns that he has motor neuron disease. Despite this – and with Jane at his side – he begins an ambitious study of time, of which he has very little left, according to his doctor. He and Jane defy terrible odds and break new ground in the fields of medicine and science, achieving more than either could hope to imagine,” reads the official synopsis.

The Theory of Everything also starred Felicity Jones, David Thewlis, Simon McBurney, Emily Watson, Harry Lloyd, Maxine Peake, Charlotte Hope, Abigail Cruttenden, Guy Oliver-Watts, Enzo Cilenti, and more. Since its debut in 2014, the film received a Fresh score of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 268 reviews. It was also considered a box office success, grossing over $123 million worldwide against a budget of around $15 million.
