Charli XCX’s Hilarious A24 Movie Arrives on HBO Max Today

HBO Max has officially added A24’s latest mockumentary movie starring Grammy Award winner Charli XCX. Beginning today, the 2026 meta film The Moment is finally available to stream on HBO Max.

What do we know about Charli XCX’s The Moment movie?

In The Moment, Charli XCX portrays a fictionalized version of herself who’s in the middle of preparing for her first arena tour. During the movie’s theatrical run, it received mixed reviews from critics. It currently has an approval rating of 66% on Rotten Tomatoes, while its Popcornmeter score is higher at 75%. The movie also starred Rachel Sennott, Rosanna Arquette, Hailey Benton Gates, Kate Berlant, Jaime Demetriou, Kylie Jenner, Isaac Powell, Alexander Skarsgård, Rish Shah, Arielle Dombasle, Trew Mullen, Sarah Beck Mather, Riana Duce, and Richard Perez.

“A rising pop star navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.

The Moment was directed by Aidan Zamiri in his feature-length directorial debut. Zamiri also co-wrote the screenplay with Bertie Brandes, based on an original idea by Charli XCX. The movie was produced by Charli XCX and David Hinojosa. The creative team also included director of photography Sean Price Williams, editor Billy Sneddon, production designer Francesca Di Mottola, and composer Alexander Guy Cook.

The British pop singer and songwriter was most recently seen in IFC’s horror movie Faces of Death with Barbie Ferreira. She will next be seen in Olivia Wilde’s erotic comedy movie I Want Your Sex on July 31 and in Cathy Yan’s thriller drama film The Gallerist with Natalie Portman.
