The Batman Part 2 writer just teased his next project, and Daredevil fans are connecting the dots. Mattson Tomlin shared a cryptic post that has Marvel fans buzzing.

The Batman Part 2 writer Mattson Tomlin sparked Daredevil speculation on X today. He posted a photo of the iconic Bendis and Maleev Daredevil run on May 22. Tomlin captioned the image, “Digging back into the holy text. You know what that means…” The post quickly attracted over 26,000 views.
Tomlin kept his intentions deliberately vague in the replies. A fan asked him about his favorite Daredevil comic run during the conversation. He responded, “Depends on what I’m working on but this is the big one.” The answer only added fuel to growing speculation about a possible project.
The filmmaker has previously shared Daredevil content on his social media accounts. A Reddit post from late 2025 also noted his public interest in writing the character. He specifically praised the Bendis and Maleev run as a major influence on him.
Tomlin currently serves as co-writer on The Batman Part 2 alongside director Matt Reeves. The DC Studios sequel recently started filming on location in Liverpool, UK. Robert Pattinson returns as the Dark Knight alongside newcomers Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson. Bryan Tyree Henry also joined the cast in a surprise addition announced by Reeves.
The film is set for an October 2027 theatrical release after years of delays.
Beyond his screenwriting work, Tomlin also authored the comic series Batman: Imposter for DC. His experience writing street-level superhero stories across both film and comics fits Daredevil naturally. However, some fans on Reddit expressed concern that his style might lean too grounded for the character. The nature of the teased project remains unconfirmed at this stage.
