Zoey Deutch & Jon Hamm Sex Comedy’s 2nd Teaser Hurts John Slattery Constantly

Sony Pictures Classics dropped a new teaser for Zoey Deutch‘s upcoming sex comedy. Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass looks gloriously unhinged. The new footage leans hard into awkward slapstick, and Slattery takes the brunt of it, literally.

The new teaser follows Gail Daughtry and her misfit crew, including John Slattery, as they show up uninvited at Jon Hamm’s door. When a small window opens, and a man asks if they have an appointment, Slattery decides to pull rank, aka dropping his celebrity card. The doorman recognizes him, swings the door open, and cheerfully tells him, “I respect your work.” The warm welcome, however, lasts about two seconds before the man starts closing the door again with a curt “Have a good day.”

Slattery sticks his foot in to stop it, but the man keeps slamming. Slattery keeps saying “oww”; however, the door keeps getting slammed. The wall eventually breaks. Everyone standing behind him winces in collective secondhand pain. And in the most fitting conclusion possible, Slattery shouts Jon Hamm’s name and gets punched in the face.

Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass official synopsis sets up the wild ride. Small-town hairdresser Gail, engaged to her high school sweetheart Tom, is blindsided when Tom acts on his “celebrity pass.” To even the score, Gail heads to Los Angeles with her friend Otto, convinced by a psychic that her only option is to find Jon Hamm. What follows is a full-blown Hollywood chase, complete with a talent agency assistant, a paparazzo, Slattery, and one very elusive star.

Zoey Deutch leads the cast alongside Jon Hamm, Slattery, Ken Marino, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Ben Wang, Sabrina Impacciatore, Joe Lo Truglio, Thomas Lennon, Richard Kind, and many more. Directed by David Wain, and written by Wain and Ken Marino, Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass hits theaters on July 10.
