Upcoming Raid Style Movie Gets 100% RT Score & Is ‘1 of Best Action Films’

The Furious just landed a major Rotten Tomatoes milestone. Critics compared the martial arts thriller with John Wick and The Raid: Redemption while praising its fight choreography and action sequences.

Critics call The Furious one of the best action films of the decade

The Furious received praise for its martial arts choreography and large-scale action sequences. Christopher Cross from Asynchronous Media called it “one of the best action films of the decade.” Brian Tallerico from RogerEbert.com wrote that Tanigaki Kenji “executed some of the most impressive fight scenes in years.” Joshua Mbonu from InSession Film described the movie as “a pure action onslaught.”

The film stars Xie Miao as Wang Wei and Joe Taslim as journalist Navin. The story follows both men after kidnappers abduct Wei’s daughter. Aaron Neuwirth from We Live Entertainment said the movie delivered “the best all-out martial arts brawler” since The Raid: Redemption. Eddie Harrison from film-authority.com also compared the movie with The Raid and The Raid 2.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, The Furious holds a 100% Tomatometer score from 24 reviews. The score currently stands above several major action titles on the platform. John Wick holds an 86% critics score from 226 reviews.

John Wick: Chapter 2 and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum both earned 89% scores. Meanwhile, John Wick: Chapter 4 reached 94% from 385 reviews, while The Raid: Redemption received 87% from 170 reviews.

The film hits theaters on June 12, 2026, through Lionsgate Films, following strong early reactions from critics across multiple entertainment outlets.
