Mckenna Grace & Shirley Chen’s Acclaimed Horror Movie Hits Paramount+ Today

Bleecker Street’s most recent body horror movie, starring Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) and Shirley Chen (Dìdi), has finally found a streaming home. As of today, Grace and Chen’s 2026 film Slanted is now available to stream on Paramount+. This comes two months after the film was first released in theaters.

What do we know about Mckenna Grace’s Slanted movie?

Slanted was written, directed, and produced by Amy Wang. In the film, Grace and Chen play the same teenager who underwent ethnic modification surgery in hopes of fitting in. The movie also stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Brindha, Amelie Zilber as Olivia Hammond, Elaine Hendrix as Harmony, Megan Hayes as Mrs. Pine, Sarah Kopkin as Greta, R. Keith Harris as Willie, Katy Wilson as Nancy, Fang Du as Roger Huang, and more.

“As an immigrant, I’ve always been aware that I looked different. Slanted examines the cost of chasing acceptance, and what it means to abandon yourself in the process. Is belonging worth losing who you are for a system that was never built to value you? I can’t wait for Slanted to debut on Paramount+ and reach millions of people across America,” Wang said in a statement.

“In the film, Joan Huang idolizes the popular girls and dreams of being prom queen, but fears the only way to win is to look like all the past queens whose portraits line her high school halls. Enter Ethnos: a shady cosmetic surgery clinic that makes people of color appear white,” reads the official synopsis. “Joan undergoes the procedure and wakes up a beautiful blonde destined for the crown, but at what cost? Blending sharp satire, sci-fi, and body horror proves that identity is never only skin-deep.”

Following its world premiere at last year’s SXSW Film & TV Festival, the coming-of-age satire film has received an approval rating of 68% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 72 reviews. During the festival, it won the Grand Jury Prize in the Narrative Feature Competition. The movie was produced by Trevor Wall, Adel “Future” Zilbe, Cameron Boling, and Mark Ankner, with Kevin Mann, Hannah Pillemer, Ani Kevork, and Fernando Szew serving as executive producers.
